Joe Schaefer’s company Beyond The Ledge Skate Wax is definitely “Not Your Mother’s Candles”. Joe is a man with a game plan that is slowly unfolding before our very eyes. And to tell you the truth…it looks really good. I learned a lot about this NYC based company during this interview and I’m proud to share this Company Spotlight with all of you.

James Perez: From Up & Coming to NYC All-Star Interview

James Perez is the man. He is like a little brother to me. And I really mean that. The kid is so inspiring in all aspects of Life that I feel fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His love for NYC and blading is helping to guide the scene to the future. And with him being one of the passengers in the the vehicle the East Coast is on the right road.

2nd Annual NYC Street Invitational

After a borough to borough spot change, a tight knit comp info secrecy and criticism for holding a street comp in a skate park, the 2nd Annual NYC Street Invitational went down. Needless to say that it was an amazing event with ALOT of bladers coming out to support what we all love to do. Aside from catching up with many old faces in the crowd I managed to snag a bunch of random pics with my fogged lense LB-CAM aka iPod Touch. I apologize in advance for my pics being shittier than usual but take from it the ambience of a great time in NYC rollerblading.

“AChosen Few:NY” comp LB-CAM pics

           On Saturday, June 4th “A Chosen Few” comp flew over to the East Coast and what an event it was! To sum it up the comp consisted off 2 spot busts, 2 new back-up spots, amazing blading from our locals and a great time had by all. The New York blading scene is growing and growing so enjoy the pictures, my captions and spread this blog around like the common cold!

Exclusive LB-CAM pics from Shop ‘N’ Swap 4/30/2011

          On Saturday, April 30th 2011 at Maloof Skatepark in Flushing, Queens there was a great grassroots event that focused on something other than blading. Brought to you by the creative minds of Victor Callender & Wheels In Motion the 1st annual Shop ‘N’ Swap event turned out to be a success. Many bladers picked up free products as well as top quality blading items for rock bottom prices. Where else can you pick up frames for $5, wheels w/ bearings for $10 and even brand new Deshi Carbon souls for $5! I loved the positive vibe throughout the day and I defnitely look forward to the next Shop ‘N’ Swap so I can find even more deals!
