Some may know him by name but I am pretty sure that even more of you know of him by his outstanding artwork which is all over the rollerblading industry. And with his own brand PRINT BRIGADE http://printbrigade.com/ making some of the most sought after limited edition shirts there is no stopping the man CHRIS PIASCIK. Chris is a busy man that proves the theory that 24 hours is not enough in a day. So I am honored that he took the time out of his busy schedule to visit ShutupandSKATE and let us pry his mind for a few.

SUAS: What’s up Chris and welcome to ShutupandSKATE! I am a big admirer of your artwork and I am honored that you have taken the time to join us. What are you up to these days?
Thanks! I am happy to be featured! These days I am working WAY too much—but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Between Print Brigade, Alphabet Arm, Freelance and my own personal work I have very little time to sleep. At the moment I am getting some last minute things ready for the Bitter Cold Showdown next week! We’re going to have some new exclusive stuff!

SUAS: What is your background in Rollerblading?
I have been Rollerblading for a good portion of my life. I started around 93′ or 94′ and I still get out there when I can.

SUAS: What companies do you do artwork for?
I own Print Brigade and I also work full time as a designer at Alphabet Arm in Boston. Within the Rollerblading industry I have done work for ONE, Create Originals, Northeast Media, Denial and Dub Caesar.

SUAS: Cool, I’ll take all of your “I Still Rollerblade” tees in size Large please haha…If someone wanted to get a logo/design from you how do they go about doing it?
Haha! We’re all out of the “I Still Rollerblade” shirts at the moment… however I made a last minute decision to make some new ones for Bitter Cold. In terms of hiring me for design work it’s pretty easy, just shoot me an email chrispiascik@gmail.com and we can discuss the project and go from there.

SUAS: Where do you draw inspiration from before you start each new piece?
I draw inspiration from a number of sources ranging from all kinds of media, to friends and other artists. I have been doing daily drawings for over two years and those actually come in handy when I need to come up with a new design, print or painting.

SUAS: Since alot of your work is done on various mediums, what is your favorite medium to work with?
I’d say my favorite is simple—sharpie on paper.

SUAS: Any last words or shout-outs?
Hmm.. I should give a shout-out to my Print Brigade partner, Jamie Murrett, and my girlfriend who puts up with me working ALL the time. Also my cat, Lokie, he keeps it real. And to the kiddies—stop being jerks on Rollernews / Be-Mag and go rollerblade.
