If you have been blading for more than a decade and you resided in New York than you definitely remember my great friend Gustavo Carcamo. Gusto came back to NYC about a week ago to visit family and of course to strap on the dusty blades for an OG session at Coleman Skatepark with some of the original P62 crew (which includes myself, Ruben Perez, Joseph Fernandez and many more).

Rollerblading Throwback #7 BOX Issue 11 “Wanderlust”

Posted in Rollerblading Throwbacks with tags , , on June 11, 2010 by lordbrian

BOX Magazine “Wanderlust” Issue which is Issue #11 is today’s Rollerblading Throwback. This issue is chock full of ads. I believe that EVERY company in the Rollerblading Industry at that time period (which was Winter ’96) bought space for an ad. It definitely showed how UNIFIED the Rollerblading world was. Maybe we can all start going back to this way of thinking hmmm?

Posted in My Ramblings, Rollerblading Throwbacks with tags , on May 24, 2010 by lordbrian

Today’s throwback is a bit special because of the rarity of this issue, which was the controversial  issue of “SKATER MAGAZINE” due to the words on the cover.

Rollerblading Throwback #5: 1998 NISS PROMO MAG

Posted in My Ramblings, Rollerblading Throwbacks with tags on May 19, 2010 by lordbrian

I wanted to change it up a bit with today’s throwback. I picked out a rare 1998 NISS PROMO MAG which was given out to those that attended the NISS events during that year. “Night Of The String” is today’s pick for ShutupandSKATE’s Rollerblading Throwback. This VHS contains the classic split-section between Randy Spizer & Louie Zamora to the musical backdrop of The Firm’s “PHONE TAP” as well as a nice montage featuring Chris Edwards going for an insane spine to spine transfer.

Rollerblading Throwback #3: “THE HOAX” VHS

Posted in My Ramblings, Rollerblading Throwbacks with tags on May 7, 2010 by lordbrian

Today’s find from my Rollerblading vault is definitely a ‘Rollerblading Throwback”.  THE HOAX is one of those rare gems that sadly get overlooked and in this case it has been overlooked since it’s sequel “THE HOAX 2” became the holy grail of Rollerblading videos. This is definitely one of my cherished items.

Rollerblading Throwback #2: “No Limits″ VHS

Posted in My Ramblings, Rollerblading Throwbacks with tags on April 30, 2010 by lordbrian

Here is another classic piece of Rollerblading cinema that was buried in my treasure trove of memorabilia. “NO LIMITS” was released in 1996 by Blizzard Productions, Inc. This is the VHS that shocked the Rollerblading world with one of the most infamous falls in Rollerblading when Jon Ortiz landed scorpion-style nearly breaking his back after falling of a rail in Central park NYC…and after his foot stops shaking he gets up asking who called the ambulance haha.
